Ripple Inc Celebrates Their 10th Anniversary

As one of the early investors of Ripple Inc., Roger Coleman is heavily involved with the crypto solutions provider and recently shared an update as the company celebrates their 10 year anniversary.

“In celebrating Ripples 10 year anniversary at our quarterly meeting in Miami, one of the major crypto hubs in the world, we were fortunate enough to bring together hundreds of employees along with the leadership team and discuss the vision for Ripple over the next 10 years.” said Coleman.

Recent Highlights

Some quick hits from recent months…

  • We continue to expand the global footprint of On-Demand Liquidity (ODL)ODL went live in Brazil, a key market in LATAM with Travelex Bank in August. In October, we planted flags in Sweden and France with Xbaht and Lemonway, respectively. In the Philippines, early-adopter iRemit expanded its existing use to now also leverage ODL for treasury payments.
  • We launched our largest ever brand campaign, Crypto Means Business — the approach was to show the world that crypto is essential to business — and that Ripple is leading the way. If you’ve spent time in London, NYC, Sao Paulo or Dubai recently… you may have seen one of our various takeovers!
  • It was a big quarter for Ripple-hosted events; from Apex (the annual developer conference we co-host — recap here) to UBRI Connect (our event focused on bringing together academics in the University Blockchain Research Initiative community — recap here), the power of in-person connection is tangible and we continue to see it pay dividends.
  • Despite the challenging market conditions this year, Ripple continues to gain recognition for being one of the best places to work — and a top crypto company in general… Inc. 5000Fortune’s Best Medium WorkplacesFortune’s Best Workplaces in Tech and CB Insights’ Fintech 250 to name a few.
  • XRPL NFTs are here — David Schwartz wrote an overview of what this means (here) — as David said, this was a collective effort of the #XRPL community and engineers on the RippleX team. In the spirit of intellectual honesty, this feels more like catch-up than staying ahead of the curve, but is nevertheless an exciting milestone.

Ripple saw continued growth through the quarter, once again generating new quarterly records for our key metrics even while the crypto markets more broadly remained depressed through the quarter. Our focus on ODL volume growth continues to pay off as volume grew more than 30% from the previous quarter. For the first time we exceeded 4M transactions on RippleNet in the quarter, which includes both ODL and fiat transactions.

What’s Next

We’ll host our annual flagship event, Swell in London in a couple weeks — an opportunity to bring together industry leaders, customers, partners and influencers across crypto, blockchain, payments, financial services and economic policy. It’s a great lineup with leaders from legacy players like Mastercard, Bank of America, as well as emerging players, like Heirloom, Xange and others.

The focus now remains on digging deep in the trenches of executing our strategy or 2023 and beyond. That includes evaluating opportunities ahead and prioritizing the key initiatives that we set forth as a company.
